Today, we celebrate Ben Schonberger’s 24th anniversary with Winterbrook Planning! As one of our AICP-certified Senior Planners, Ben has played a crucial role in guiding complex land use projects across Oregon. His deep expertise in zoning, permitting, and advocacy has helped shape communities, providing new opportunities for housing, infrastructure, and institutional development.

Happy Valley Housing Production Strategy

Ben led Winterbrook’s efforts in Happy Valley’s Housing Production Strategy (HPS), which was unanimously adopted by the City Council. The plan sets a roadmap for housing growth over the next six years, balancing state requirements with local priorities. Ben worked closely with city staff, stakeholders, and the public to ensure the strategy was both ambitious and achievable.

tumwata village Master Plan

Ben also played a key role in securing unanimous approval for the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde’s master plan for tumwata village. This project focuses on ecological restoration, cultural preservation, and sustainable growth, and Ben’s expertise in land use permitting helped move the plan through the approval process.
