A Milestone for tumwata village
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde have reached a significant milestone with approval of a master plan for tumwata village, their 23-acre site at tumwata (Willamette Falls) in Oregon City. This marks a pivotal advancement in the Tribe’s vision for the site. tumwata village is a place of profound cultural and historical significance for the Tribes, with their presence in the area going back thousands of years.
Winterbrook Planning played a key role in guiding the master plan through the local land use process. This included preparing the application, advising on permitting and communication strategy, working closely with Oregon City staff, and actively participating in the public hearing. The plan received unanimous approval from the City’s Planning Commission.

The approved master plan establishes a comprehensive framework plan and vision for future development. The Tribe’s focus is on ecological restoration, cultural preservation, and sustainable growth. The plan also includes approval for street infrastructure to support anticipated projects.
