Working with NNA Landscape Architecture, Winterbrook managed the land use and environmental permitting for park and trail improvements at the Columbia Children’s Arboretum in Northeast Portland.

Winterbrook prepared the environmental documentation and provided guidance on park design and plans to protect and enhance Columbia Slough riparian habitat. The site was first proposed as a park in 1904 by John Charles Olmsted. Winterbrook obtained local land use approvals and led the building permit review and compliance process. Final permits were obtained in 2022 and construction is now complete.
