Congrats to Winterbrook’s latest AICP Candidates
We are thrilled to announce that Larissa Gladding and Keava Campbell have passed the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) exam! While they are working on fulfilling the other requirements before earning full AICP certification, passing this rigorous exam earns them the status of AICP Candidates.
About the AICP Exam
The AICP exam, administered by the American Planning Association, evaluates knowledge across ethics, policy development, plan implementation, and research methods. Candidates who pass become AICP Candidates and then have a period of time to submit proof of planning experience, ranging from two to eight years depending on one’s educational background, before earning full certification. Certified planners must also complete 32 continuing education credits every two years to maintain their credential.
Larissa Gladding, AICP Candidate
Larissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Urban Development and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. At Winterbrook Planning, she focuses on public engagement, permitting, policy analysis, and transportation planning. Her notable projects include Estacada On-Call Planning, Lake Oswego Medical Clinic land use entitlements, and Housing Production Strategies for Oregon cities.
Keava Campbell, AICP Candidate
Keava earned a Master of Science in City Planning and Design from Queen’s University Belfast and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering and Sustainability from Oregon State University. She specializes in land use permitting and stakeholder engagement. At Winterbrook, she has worked on permit applications for an 86-unit hotel in Florence, OR, and the Redmond CORE3 public safety training facility. Before Winterbrook, Keava served as a Town Planner in the UK and as a Structural Design Technician at DOWL Engineers, gaining international education and experience across three continents.
Passing the AICP exam highlights Larissa’s and Keava’s commitment to professional excellence in planning. Please join us in celebrating their achievement as they complete the remaining steps toward full AICP certification.
Larissa and Keava can be seen below with books that helped shape the field that they are now helping shape themselves. Larissa holds The Radiant City by Le Corbusier, a blueprint that emphasizes order, density, and high-rise living. Keava holds Design with Nature by Ian McHarg, a foundational text in ecological planning that argues for development in harmony with the natural world. These contrasting yet complementary perspectives mirror the priorities in Winterbrook Planning’s work: integrating natural and built environments.
We are proud of our latest AICP candidates! Congrats!
