David Douglas School District Projects
Project Categories
To complete projects consistent with the 2016 Gresham-Barlow Bond ($291 million), Winterbrook developed land use applications for Cherry Park, Earl Boyles, and Gilbert Park schools:
Cherry Park Elementary
Categories: Educational, K-12
Services: Permitting
Winterbrook helped the school district obtain land use approval for a five-classroom addition to an existing school building and a new outdoor play area shelter on the site. Included in this permitting effort was a public works appeal to modify conditions for an expensive sidewalk rebuild adjacent to the property. A resolution was reached and the project was constructed.
Earl Boyles Elementary
Categories: Educational, K-12
Services: Permitting, Land Use Permitting
Winterbrook led land use permitting efforts for an expansion of this elementary school in East Portland. In Phase I of the project, Winterbrook conducted a code review, coordinated with the design team, and prepared for meetings with the City. In Phase II, Winterbrook assisted with neighborhood outreach efforts, coordinated with a transportation consultant on traffic and parking requirements, and submitted a land use application. The project was approved and constructed.
Gilbert Park Elementary
Categories: Educational, K-12
Services: Permitting
Following its success at Earl Boyles Elementary, Winterbrook was hired to lead the permitting tasks for an expansion of another nearby elementary school, Gilbert Park. On an expedited schedule, Winterbrook met and negotiated issues with Portland planning staff, coordinated a traffic impact study and required upgrades to parking area and pedestrian access, and prepared all the land use documents. The project was approved and constructed.
