Project approval: Corvallis Bike Park
The Corvallis Bike Park has reached a major milestone with the approval of its land use permits! This will allow the project to move from planning into development.
A Collaborative Effort to Support Community Recreation
Winterbrook Planning worked closely with Corvallis Parks & Recreation, Walker Macy, and C2 Recreation to prepare the land use application for the five-acre site. The project team at Winterbrook included Ben Schonberger and Keava Campbell, with Managing Principal Jesse Winterowd involved in overall project oversight as he is with all firm projects.
The approved plan includes a mix of bike trails, a skills course, and amenities such as improved shared parking with Chip Ross Park, a picnic shelter, and a restroom building. The design reflects extensive site analysis and community-oriented planning aimed at serving riders of all ages and abilities.
Responsible Planning and Comprehensive Findings
Winterbrook’s application addressed conditional uses, natural features, and environmental protections while demonstrating full compliance with Benton County development standards. The review also incorporated access considerations, compatibility with surrounding parks, and strategies to minimize impacts on adjacent natural areas.
Looking Ahead
The Corvallis Bike Park is budgeted at approximately $2.1 million through the City’s System Development Charge (SDC) program. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2026, with an opening planned for Fall 2026.
Strengthening the city’s outdoor recreation network, while creating a dynamic new space for the community—this project embodies our values and the outcomes we want to achieve with all of our work.
