Columbia Blvd Wastewater Treatment Plant projects underway

One of our projects is on the cover of DJC Oregon this week. Winterbrook Planning worked with the City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services on upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant on Columbia Boulevard in North Portland.

From the DJC Oregon Article:

City of Portland workers are in the midst of performing the most substantial upgrades to the Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant within the past 50 years, the Bureau of Environmental Services touted. The Secondary Treatment Expansion Program (STEP) involves replacement of exhausted equipment and buildings, addition of seismic resilience to keep portions of the plant, and other work to protect water quality. The total investment is expected to be more that $400 million, according to BES…These upgrades will help continue reliable service that protects our environment, public health and worker safety.

We are excited to see this project in the works. We have worked with the City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services on many projects over the years–one example being the Force Avenue Pump Station Replacement.
