Leach Botanical Garden
Winterbrook led the land use and environmental planning tasks for the Upper Garden Development Project at Portland’s Leach Botanical Garden. The project team, led by Land Morphology, developed plans for new botanical collections, a new facility entrance, and new buildings including a visitor center, education building and greenhouses. Winterbrook prepared the consolidated Conditional Use, Environmental, Tree and Adjustment application, which was approved in 2017.
Previously, Winterbrook assisted with programming, design, and natural resource planning for the 2010 Leach Botanical Garden Master Plan. Principal Tim Brooks served on the Master Plan Steering Committee. His involvement with the garden dates back more than 30 years: he prepared an inventory of the garden plant collection, cataloged the collection, designed plant labels, and served on the garden’s Education Committee for many years.
